The primary function of the Warehouse Supervisor is to coordinate various warehouse activities including the receipting and storing of new stock; as well as ensuring that all customer orders received via external and internal channels are processed and dispatched accurately and on time.
The Warehouse Supervisor will work closely with internal departments to ensure that all queries all tasks are completed in a timely and positive manner.
As well as their role specific duties the Warehouse Supervisor will be required to assist the greater Lowes business as necessary.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervision of the order fulfilment to ensure that:
- All internal and external customer orders are fulfilled accurately & within the company defined delivery timeframes.
- Proper packaging standards are met to maintain a high level of customer presentation & to minimise loss.
- Stock, consumables and supplies, equipment etc are distributed to stores as required.
- Complete daily order audits & highlight issues to the Stock Controllers and Management.
- Supervision of a range of warehouse replenishment and distribution tasks such as:
- Coordination of the daily collection/ delivery run
- Unpacking, checking and receipt of deliveries
- Ensure inbound stock is promptly matched to outstanding customer orders or located within the correct bin location in the warehouse;
- Distribution of stock, consumables and supplies equipment etc. to stores
- Distribution of inbound deliveries within Head Office.
- Coordination of courier collections and completion of manifests
- Maintenance of the consumables inventory.
- Performing administrative tasks such as:
- Maintaining inventory records through timely completion of invoices and transfer dockets
- Assisting in the redistribution of stock to retail stores or returns to vendors.
- Maintaining necessary paperwork including delivery dockets & vehicle logs
- Ensure high warehouse standards are met by overseeing:
- That general daily maintenance & housekeeping duties are performed.
- Maintenance of workstations and replenishment of consumables
- Other tasks such as creating pick location labels and product barcodes are completed as required
- Assist in the maintenance of inventory integrity by:
- Reviewing inventory discrepancies and making necessary corrections.
- Completion of accurate paperwork & company records.
- Conducting cyclic counts as required.
- Assisting in receipt audits & reconciliations.
- Supporting periodic stock takes.
- Ensuring proper product handling & storage within the warehouse
- Liaising with internal Customer Service Team & Operations Departments to ensure that all queries are addressed in a timely and positive manner.
- Support all promotional activity.
- Support the greater Lowes business as required.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of the Lowes operation by offering recommendations on process re-engineering, to improve on operational efficiencies, customer experience or reduce costs.
- To ensure that all Lowes Work, Health and Safety policies are complied with and followed at all times. Promote a safety culture & actively maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow any further reasonable management directives as required.
- Securing the Fulfilment Centre by performing opening or closing duties as scheduled
General Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Fulfilment Centre as needs arise. Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Order fulfilment & processing
- Stock receiving and replenishment.
- General warehouse maintenance
- Assisting with customer enquiries from internal departments
Although duties and responsibilities have been outlined above, the Warehouse Supervisor responsibilities may be subject to change as to cater for the operational direction and/or needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- Higher School Certificate
- A current full “c” class driver’s licence is desirable but not essential
- Qualifications in Logistics & Supply Chain Management or Warehouse Operations are desirable
Experience:
- Previous warehouse, inventory & stock management experience is highly desirable.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office suite & experience using other in-house accounting or inventory management software.
Skills:
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Physically fit and able to complete required task. (able to lift 20kg)
- A high attention to detail is required.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good numeracy and data entry skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to analyse, organise, understand and present numerical & statistical data.
- A high level of professionalism.
- Ability to work in a customer focused manner.
