The Role

Due to business growth, we are looking for an experienced menswear Senior Menswear Buyer to join our team based at our Head Office in Arncliffe, NSW.

Reporting directly to the Head of Buying, you will be responsible for the purchasing and procurement of goods to drive sales growth within your category in line with the overarching company strategy. With your passion for fashion, analytical mind, and knowledge of local and overseas trends, you will be required to develop commercially relevant ranges whilst adhering to the critical path.

What you’ll do

  • Develop product ranges and strategy for the category, supporting company objectives.
  • Buy in line with monthly category budgets & option plans to meet business targets.
  • Collaborate with the Planning team on stock management, allocations, and replenishments.
  • Weekly reporting, including product performance feedback highlighting best and worst performers and sales trends.
  • Research into trends, as well as sourcing new products to ensure competitive advantage.
  • Work with the Marketing team to ensure key items are promoted and featured in campaigns.
  • Maintain and foster great relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices and ensure on time deliveries.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and assist in the selection and/or exit strategy.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, such as Operations and Marketing.

What will make you successful?

  • Demonstrated experience as a buyer within retail apparel, preferably menswear.
  • A strategic and commercial mindset supported by strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of fabrications, product categories and garment construction
  • Capacity to build strong working relationships throughout the business and work effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and networking abilities
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • Exceptional organisational skills
