The Role
As a Buyers Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Buying team to successfully achieve our business goals. You will work closely with our experienced Buyers, contributing to the selection and management of our product inventory, and providing administrative support. This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a love for fashion and a desire to build a career in the retail industry.
This is initially a fixed term contract for 9 months, with the possibility of being extended.
What you’ll do
- Assist buyers in conducting market research to identify emerging trends and competitive products.
- Maintain accurate records of product details, costs and order information in buying systems.
- Assist in coordinating product launches, promotions, and markdowns.
- Work closely with marketing, ecommerce and visual merchandising teams to ensure cohesive product representation across all channels.
- Assist in negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Generate and maintain purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor inventory levels and work with the planning team to optimise stock levels.
- Analyse sales data and provide insights to assist in making informed buying decisions.
- Tracking shipments to ensure smooth product flow from procurement to the sales floor.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.

What will make you successful?
- Previous experience in a retail or fashion environment is preferred.
- Experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
- Enthusiastic about fashion trends and the retail industry.
